Principals Message

Welcome to Essendon Primary School's website, and thank you for taking time to learn a little about our school. I am extremely proud to be the principal of a school that has a long history of providing State education and which is so strongly supported by the local community. It is a privilege for me to work with our students, our staff and our families to make our school they very best it can be.

The full restoration and modernisation of our buildings has recently been completed and we are very excited and delighted to have full access to these brand new facilities.  We have our play space back and a lovely new, fully refurbished school with increased learning spaces that are able to be differentiated for different teaching and learning purposes such as a video screen room, wet areas, project spaces and cooperative learning spaces. Whilst respecting the many traditions established over Essendon's 168 year history, we are always looking to the future. As part of our ongoing commitment to achieving the highest standards, students, staff and the community regularly review and reflect on our progress and future direction.

Our School...Our school has a warm, genuine feel to it which creates a sense of belonging and connectedness for everyone. The best way to guage if a school is the right place for you and your family is to simply visit and have a look around and see if it feels right for you.

Our Students...Our students are proud to say they are from Essendon Primary School. Every day I am greeted with happy, engaged students who are involved in purposeful learning.

Our Staff...Are committed and dedicated to the pursuit of achieving 'Our Best'. Our teachers are reflective and responsive to student needs and there is quality commitment from the entire school community.

We provide an appealing and stimulating curriculum that is flexible and tailored to meet the needs of each and every student. Our passionate, dedicated teachers ensure our students grow in confidence and capabilities and develop the skills for the rapidly changing, 21st century living. We use innovative techniques, rich resources, proven instructional strategies and engaging programs to promote student learning. We develop in each of our students a curious, enquiring and discriminating mind, a desire for knowledge and a set of skills; linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic, physical, emotional and social. We want each of our students to leave school with the values of respect, cooperation, persistence and striving for excellence underpinning all that they do. Our students develop responsibility for their own behavior and the choices they make, and also a communal responsibility to assist their peers to do the same.

Thank you for visiting our website and welcome to our school.
